Pitch lines
AI Identity is the verification standard for AI on the open web — like a domain name, but for your AI.
AI Identity is an independent, open verification standard, public registry, and trust infrastructure for AI agents, MCP servers, and intelligent systems. It exists so anyone — a visitor, another AI, a regulator — can call one API and prove who runs an AI, what it is authorised to do, and whether that authorisation is still valid. The specification is open (CC-BY 4.0); the registry is operated as independent infrastructure.
DNS made the web addressable. TLS made it trustable. AI Identity proposes the same kind of invisible-infrastructure layer for the agentic web: a public registry of who runs every AI, with cryptographic Passports any client can verify in one call. The full spec — including handshake, MCP-Identity, agent-listings, and verification API — is published openly under CC-BY 4.0 at /spec.
Quote lines (drop into your piece)
"Every AI agent is going to need a verifiable identity, in the same way every website needed a domain name. The question was never whether — it was who would build the registry."
"The job of an identity registry is to be boring and structurally trustworthy. It can't be a model lab, a platform, or a frontier-AI vendor. The registry is the registry — that's the whole point."
"We open-sourced the specification under CC-BY 4.0 because the world should not have to take an identity standard on faith. If a better registry emerges, the spec moves with it."
